Hi everyone, I hope you are all doing well. Here is the delayed next chapter of Overturned, a romantic comedy I have been writing. Now that I’ve finished Uni, and am in a better headspace, I am now able to continue writing more, so here is the next chapter, I apologise for the long wait for those of you who rather enjoyed this story. Here is the link to the folder for Overturned, so if you are new or you have read the previous chapters but need a refresher of what this is about or whatever, feel free to go ahead and read through the folder 🙂
This chapter will be short, but I hope you enjoy it 🙂
“Yes?” Lily asked after she left that aggravating asshole of Charles and approached Virgil and the doctor. At least Virgil is much more of a decent person for Mia than Charles ever was!
“Mia’s under anesthetic at the moment as she woke up, but due to the trauma inflicted on her brain, being awake is overwhelming and caused her to pass out. The anesthetic will be effective for about two hours. You can both,” and here he motioned at Virgil and Lily, “go in and wait in her room. Maybe having you there when the anesthetic wears off and she wakes up will help her not be so overwhelmed when she awakens.”
Lily nodded, blinking away some tears. A hand came to rest comfortingly on her shoulder and looking over her shoulder, she realized that it was Virgil. She gave him a grateful nod and began heading toward the room that the doctor indicated.
She couldn’t help but glance over her shoulder to where she had chewed Charles out before. That spot was empty, no sign of the man anywhere.
He had left.
Like she had demanded.
Good, she thought, turning back as Virgil turned the door knob. It’s time he left. Mia needs peace.
Sorry this is a short chapter, just getting back into the flow of it all. I have no idea how the hospital actually handles this sort of thing, so if you see anything that’s inaccurate, just let me know and I’ll change it. Hope you enjoyed! Have a great day/night 🙂
