Random Thoughts

I’ve heard people say that nothing hurts worse than betrayal.

But I think they’re wrong.

What hurts the most is the guilt from thinking you’ve been betrayed and then discovering that you haven’t been and that you’ve seriously misread the situation, which is a relief, but at the same time a huge hurt cause you caused pain to someone whom you most likely care about (and they care about you) by thinking ill of them and then they blame themselves when the fault lies squarely with you…but they don’t see that at all.

Nothing hurts worse than knowing that you’ve wounded someone when they had nothing but good intentions for you and then they feel guilty but fail to see how it’s not their fault, but yours.

      1. Jack and I (sorry I just noticed I called him Hack above – please forgive the typo) ended up estranged for almost five years.

At the end of the day – we both misread the situation. But yes, I thought he had betrayed me, slandered me – I did not know what was going on with him though. Still, I am so glad we finally made peace and now can look forward to planning for our life together.

  1. I agree, no one likes to face an error in judgment and the consequences. I have from experience that it’s best to admit as soon as possible and to offer to make things right.

      1. The tough part is to, not have expectations and to just clear your side of the street. At least you’ve owned your mistakes and what happens after is out of your hands
